Set Up Your Synagogue Profile

①
Open "Manage Setup Information"
From your Rabbi Dashboard, click the "Manage Setup Information" tile. This is where you enter your synagogue details and generate student access codes.
②
Complete Your Profile
Fill in your synagogue name, city, state, and denomination. Add your rabbi name and email so students and parents can identify you. You can also upload a profile photo.
③
Generate Your Student Access Code
A unique 6-character access code is automatically generated for your synagogue. This is the code you give to all students when they sign up — it links them directly to your account.
🔑 Your Access Code: You can find this code on your Setup page. Share it with each student's family before their first login. Keep it safe!
3

Add Your First Student

①
Go to Curriculum Manager
Click "Curriculum" from your dashboard. This is where you create students, assign curriculum, and manage their B'nai Mitzvah preparation tasks.
②
Add a New Student
Click "Add Student" and enter the student's full name, email, and their B'nai Mitzvah date. The system will generate a personal access code for that student automatically.
📋 Student Access Codes: Each student gets their own personal code in addition to the synagogue-wide code. Share their personal code with their family for a more personalized login.
③
Assign Curriculum Items
Select the student and click "Add Item" to assign tasks such as Torah portions, prayers, Hebrew reading, and their D'var Torah speech. Add a title, category, and optional description or file attachment.
④
Send a Prayer Recording (Optional)
From the Student Detail page, go to the "Sent Recordings" tab and upload an audio recording of a prayer for the student to listen to and practice. The student will be notified and can listen from their portal.
⑤
Tell the Student to Log In
Direct the student (or parent) to letsmitzvah.com. They click "Student Login", enter their name and access code, and they're in — no email or password needed!
👨‍👩‍👧 For parents: Share the access code via text or email. Students log in with their first and last name plus the code. It's designed to be simple for kids.

Day-to-Day Usage

Once you're set up, here's how a typical week works for you and your students:

🎙
Torah Recordings
Students record themselves reading Torah portions and submit them for your review. You'll see a badge on your dashboard when a new recording arrives. Listen, add notes, and mark it reviewed.
📋
Curriculum Progress
Students check off tasks as they complete them. When they finish and return an item, you receive a notification. Review their work and add personalized notes back to them.
🎧
Prayer Recordings
Record yourself chanting a prayer and send it to a student (or all students) as a model to practice with. The student can listen repeatedly and mark when they've heard it.
📅
Attendance & Calendar
Mark student attendance after each session. Add calendar events that students can see from their dashboard — great for study session reminders and upcoming dates.
📊
Student Progress Reports
View each student's progress percentage, completed items, and upcoming tasks. Send progress reports to parents directly from the student detail page.
✨
AI Mitzvah Coach
Students have access to a built-in AI coach that answers questions about Torah, prayers, Hebrew, and B'nai Mitzvah traditions — available 24/7 from their checklist.
